Taking action to combat gender-based violence

Foundation

We advocate for human rights regardless of gender, origin, age, beliefs or gender orientation. We support local feminist organizations that fight for the protection of human rights of women from Palestine, Israel and Jordan. Surgir is a Swiss Foundation, apolitical, non-confessional and committed activist for more than 20 years against all forms of gender-based violence.

Mission and values

Our vision is that of a world where no person is discriminated against because of his/her identity, gender or gender orientation. Both in the South and in the North, we defend values of solidarity, social justice, diversity, equality and commitment.

Victory! Sabrina was finally reunited with her mother in Switzerland, where she now lives her life as a child in complete safety.

THANK YOU!

It is with great enthusiasm and emotion that we are able to inform you today of the success of Sabrina's rescue. Thanks to your convictions, thanks to the tenacity and courage of Sabrina and her mother, and thanks to your help, we were able to overcome all the obstacles encountered during these 18 months of hard fighting and to restore justice to this family. Sabrina has arrived in Switzerland, where she will be able to spend the holidays with her mother and thrive in safety. Without you, this would not have been possible. A huge THANK YOU for your precious support, which allows us all to end this year on a high note.

Support our programs

We work in collaboration with women’s rights organizations to establish programs to combat sexual assault, crimes committed in the name of honour and to combat all forms of gender-based violence.
